I did it! I survived my first day of student teaching. Actually, it was a tiny bit boring. I'm only observing these first few weeks so it's a lot of sitting and watching. I'm sure once I get to teach it will be crazy.

It was a fun and crazy day. The kids are great and I've already learned a lot of their names....which I'm very proud of since I'm so horrible with names.

Update...I lost 2.2 lbs this week so my total for 3 weeks is 13+. So far, so good.

I lost 1.4 lbs. last week. Chris lost 3. Josh and Brandi both lost over 6!

Well, today is my last full-time at NI for the next 13 weeks. It seems so surreal to me. Today I walked in and my co-workers had decorated my cube with balloons, apples and little funny notes. Oh yea, and tons of recipes on my desk for all the apples they gave me. : ) I will miss everyone over the next few weeks, but I will still be working some hours so I will still get emails from everyone. I'm excited & a little sad...all at the same time.

Weight Watchers

Oh yea. I almost forgot. Chris and I joined Weight Watchers AGAIN!
Our first week was great. I lost 10.2 lbs and Chris lost 6.2...pretty crazy. My brother Josh and his wife Brandi joined last week with us so now we have a bigger support group. I'm excited they are on this journey with us. I'll keep everyone posted on our progress.

Student Teaching....

Well, it's almost here! I start my student teaching on January 26th. Today I had to drive to San Marcos for a 45 minute meeting. I originally thought I'd be out all day, and was suppose to be, but my afternoon meeting got moved to Thursday. At least Thursday I'll be at the Round Rock campus.

It's official though, I get to teach at Lago Vista! Not sure yet of the grade, but will find out soon.

Rileigh's very excited at the idea of me being there with her. I fear her jumping out of line and running over to me when she sees me....but these are things we will work out. We'll see how long the excitement lasts (lol).

Oh yea, for those that are wondering. National Instruments is letting me reduce my hours during this 13 weeks so I can figure out if teaching really is my true passion. I'll be working here and there from home and on weekends. (YEP....I'll be very busy) but I guess no more than working full time and taking 2 grad classes each semester. : )
